About Sounds English
Sounds English is an English language listening practice project web site created by an experienced qualified language teacher with 15 years of experience in delivering high quality language lessons to thousands of students from all over the world.
The goal of the project is to make Sounds English the number one resource for English language listening practice on the web.About the developer
With 15 years as a language teacher on 4 continents. The project creator, Graeme, used to manage a major chain school in Budapest Hungary and now runs his own small private school in the city. Graeme has been project manager for a European Union funded Socrates Lingua 2 project, has lived and worked as an educator in several countries and has experience of teaching all levels of english, dozens of nationalities, exams, business, corporate training and much more.
This latest project is a way to bring that experience to a wider audience. Free!
About the lessons
Each lesson created contains a foundation based on the levels and competencies defined in the Common European Framework (CEFR). The lessons are designed using the latest methodology and technology and are comparable to the english listening exercises seen in many top quality course books and classrooms around the world. About the material
Each of the lessons is unique and recorded exclusively for Sounds English in our own recording studio. The actors are all experienced professional language teachers and the material they use has been designed to be appropriate for the level, with Grammar vocabulary and phonological elements designed to challenge and stimulate the learner so that the listening skills they develop are transferable and are of benefit to their wider English learning.

A Book of supplementary practice material for teachers to be used to help learners to prepare for the Cambridge Business English certificate Vantage and Higher levels. Completion pending.

A pronunciation practice website aimed at improving all areas of pronunciation for English learners. Including vowel and consonant sound practice and comparison, dipthongs, contractions, elision and much more. Launches 2009.
iphone apps
I am developing a number of iphone applications to help english learning. The first iPron was released 23.10.09 it helps learners to learn the phonetic alphabet. The next is due before xmas.

A grammar practice site for learners of English. Should be launched early 2010.

A story book for young people aimed at intoducing and raising awareness or percussive sounds, rhythms and cultural awareness. due for release late Early 2010
